The Manga Behind the Oshi no Ko Adaptations

The Oshi no Ko anime and live-action adaptations are based on the manga series written by Aka Akasaka, known for ‘Kaguya-sama: Love is War,’ and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari, known for ‘Scum’s Wish.’ The manga has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump since April 23, 2020. The English version of the manga is licensed by Yen Press.

The first volume of the manga is described as a story about Gorou, a gynecologist and idol fan who is shocked when his favorite star, Ai, announces an impromptu hiatus. However, Gorou soon realizes that he is about to form a bond with Ai that defies common sense. Lies play a significant role in this outrageous manga.
