The Potential Appearance of Ashborn in Solo Leveling Season 1

Solo Leveling Season 1 has captivated fans with its high-quality animation and faithful adaptation of the source material. However, there is a concern that some beloved moments from the manga, such as the arrival of the original Shadow Monarch, Ashborn, may not be included in the limited 12-episode season.

Fortunately, there is hope for fans as Solo Leveling Season 1 incorporates anime-original content. This opens up the possibility of seeing Ashborn in the upcoming episodes, although it has not been confirmed yet. The inclusion of anime-original content suggests that the series may deviate from the source material and offer new scenes and storylines.

In order to understand the potential appearance of Ashborn, it is important to delve into his backstory. Ashborn was the strongest Ruler of ancient times and the first Shadow Monarch in the series. He blindly followed the Absolute Being during the war with the Monarchs, which led to his fellow Rulers criticizing the Absolute Being for using them as mere playthings.

With his newfound strength as the Shadow Monarch, Ashborn sought to end the war and bring peace. However, by the time he reentered the battle, the war had already concluded and the Absolute Being had been killed. Ashborn attempted to align himself with the Monarchs to neutralize his powers, but his immense strength only raised suspicion among the other Rulers.

Two of the strongest Monarchs, Rakan and Baran, attacked Ashborn in an effort to defeat him. Ashborn easily defeated them, symbolically killing Baran to express his anger. Subsequently, the Rulers pleaded for his forgiveness, and after much persuasion, Ashborn went into hiding to rebuild his Shadow Army.

Centuries later, Ashborn followed the Monarchs to Earth, where they hunted humans. Seeking a peaceful environment and a suitable vessel for his powers, Ashborn enlisted the help of the Architect. Fortunately, Sung Jinwoo was deemed worthy of becoming the next vessel for Ashborn. Despite the Architect’s objections, Ashborn trained Jinwoo to receive the powers of the system.

During the Double Dungeon arc, the Architect summoned Jinwoo, anticipating that Ashborn would transfer his powers to him. However, to the Architect’s dismay, he was locked out of the system, and Ashborn bestowed his heart upon Jinwoo, making him the next Shadow Monarch. Jinwoo remained unaware of this until the Monarch’s War arc, where Ashborn finally revealed the truth.

While it is uncertain whether Ashborn will appear in the remaining episodes of Solo Leveling Season 1 based on the source materials alone, the inclusion of anime-original content opens up the possibility. Fans eagerly await the upcoming episodes to see if the Shadow Monarch will make his long-awaited debut.
