Recap of High Card Season 2 Episode 8
In Episode 8, Lala reveals the truth about the events that occurred thousands of years ago, before the establishment of the Kingdom of Fourlands. Through his abilities, Finn witnesses the past firsthand.
Lala discloses that he was the creator of the X-Playing cards and aided a child named Ewan in uniting nations against foreign invaders. The first person to become a Player was the black knight, San Galgano, who Finn despises for killing his family.
Ewan, the king who brought the nations together, faced a revolt from Galgano, who believed that only cardholders should hold such power. After eliminating Lala, Galgano planned to execute Ewan publicly, but another cardholder intervened and stopped him.
This incident made the other knights, who were also players, question their support for Galgano, ultimately leading to his demise. Galgano’s card absorbed all his hatred and rage. Lala encountered Ewan on his deathbed and requested that he die in his hands to make the cards disappear, but Ewan refused.
Ewan asked Lala to become the 53rd card, serving as a kill switch in case things spiraled out of control. Galgano continued to return in different vessels, devouring other players’ cards and attempting to destroy the 53rd X-Playing card. However, his powers needed alignment with his vessels.
Lala asked Finn to kill him, but Finn refused, recognizing the importance of the X-Playing cards to all of them. Finn then confronted Galgano and saved Chris, but they were soon cornered by Zenon.
When Tilt regained consciousness, he used Galgano to attack Zenon and proclaimed that he was not a monster. Suddenly, Owen, filled with rage, arrived at the scene and aimed his gun at Tilt.
What to Expect from High Card Season 2 Episode 9
